Prepare your CSV file
Export contacts from your current CRM, email tool, or spreadsheet. Make sure columns are clearly labeled: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, etc.
Go to Contacts → Import
In the Contacts section, click the Import button (usually an upload icon or under the Actions menu).
Upload your CSV
Drag and drop your CSV file or click to browse. GHL will preview the first few rows.
Map your columns
Match each CSV column to the corresponding GHL contact field. Required: at minimum, email OR phone. Map all other fields you want to preserve.
Handle duplicates
Choose how GHL should handle duplicate contacts — skip, merge, or update existing records.
Tag the imported contacts
Add a tag to all imported contacts (e.g. 'imported-2024') so you can identify and segment them later.
Review and confirm
Preview the import and confirm. GHL will process the file and notify you when complete. Check the Contacts list to verify the import was successful.
